This is the view of the garden after
Peggy had prepared the first new bed.
This took place even before the contract
for the sale of the lot had been signed.
I have no idea what we would have done if
the sale had not gone thru.

|
And this is the garden in the Spring of 1997.
Peggy had managed over the fall and winter
to get most of the work done on this large
bed located on the South side of the lot.
|
|
Of course, there is now the North side of the
lot to be considered. The task of turning under
the sod and lining the border with cement border
blocks is well under way in this shot. There are
a considerable number of rocks to be removed. |
|
And then, a year later with the forget-me-nots in
bloom and the bed all filled with plants and shrubs,
the effort seems to be definitely worth while. |
|
And later in the year, when the summer sun has had
a chance to do its work, it is a joy for the gardener
to behold. |
|
Even gardners have their rewards. Here is Peggy
with a truck load of plants to go to the annual
Seal Rock Garden Club sale. Happiness is a
gardner with a load of plants to give away. |
|
By late summer 2003 the garden had expanded. The
many 'Naked ladies' (Amaryllis Belladonna) were
in full bloom adding large splashes of pink to
a fall garden.
