Buzz Word #4,
Significant other
Ah, a term I understand . . .
not that I have a significant other. In Waldport,
Oregon a single woman over forty has a better
chance of being abducted by space aliens than of
finding a compatible man. Oh well. What was that
bit of graffiti I saw in college? "A woman without
a man is like a fish without a bicycle." That must
be a cliché by now. But what about a man
without his bike?

I switched the surf board to
a computer and sold it to a tech magazine.
Ironically, the tech magazine couldn't handle
multi-colors, so I also came up with a black and
white template.

|
Since many of my clients are
trade journals, I often do dozens of variations of
the same idea, tweaking it just a bit, and
essentially reselling the same cartoon over and
over. I never sell the same idea to competing
magazines, though! That is a cartooning no
no.
