| In August, 2000 Betty's brother, Bob Imrie, was selected as Grand Marshal of Klickitat County Fair and Rodeo. It was a well deserved honor for this longtime rancher in the Goodnoe Hills area of Washington. He is an influential member of the farming community, having farmed, raised horses and cattle for several decades. He has provided many years of service to the agriculture and ranching industry, as well as the community. After Pearl Harbor, Bob joined the Air Corps and became a B-17 pilot in the 99th Bomb Group in North Africa. Then he became a B-29 instructor at Harvard (Nebraska, that is). Subsequently, he returned to Goodnoe Hills, married Dorothy, had a daughter, Candy, and raised wheat. He owns 30 head of horses, including a prize cutting horse. In 1992 he received the Cattleman of the Year award. Bob served on the board of the famous Maryhill Museum and helped in the planning and completion of the War Memorial at Stonehenge, near Maryhill. | |
