There is always an especially strong bond among people who share a dangerous experience. The men on our crew only served together for about a year but we developed a lifelong friendship that has extended to wives and families. When our tour of duty in the South Pacific was ended, we promised to meet in ten years. We did. However we decided that was too long an interval so we changed it to five years and then to two years. We expect to continue as long as there are more than one of us.

In 1985 the crew held its reunion in Yachats on the Oregon Coast. All members and wives were present with the exception of Ken Erickson whom we had never been able to locate.

In1997 the crew again met in Yachats. Our activities ranged from Lincoln City to Florence. One of the highlights was a trip on the Siuslaw River on a stern wheeler. This is a picture of everyone in Florence taken while waiting to board. Fifty two years since we parted in New Guinea and there seems to be a little change in looks.
