SMELT FRY 

Every summer there is a smelt fry in Yachats---all you can eat or sausages for some. Old time fiddlers and a "kitchen band" provide entertainment. People come from miles around. One of the City Councilors lends some atmosphere (as shown here with Betty).

LA DE DA  PARADE

One of the summer events which has become a tradition is the La De Da Parade. Anyone with a sense of humor is invited to participate. Those parading and those watching enjoy a great sense of community. An example of the approach people take is the vehicle used by the City Councilors---a manure spreader (by popular demand).
