LOBB-NEISH

----

Popular Couple United in Matrimony on July Fourth

-----

On Thursday, July 4, at Co1orado Springs occurred the marriage of Joseph Garr Lobb and Miss Elizabeth Neish. The event came as a surprise to the relatives and friends of both parties. The groom is a member of the military training school at Colorado Springs and left here a month ago with the special contingent. Miss Neish had been visiting in Denver for a week, and even relatives did not suspect that the young couple had planned to be married. Thursday Miss Neish went to Colorado Springs and they were quietly married. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Neish, proprietors of the boarding house at MacGregor, and is one of the most popular young ladies in Routt county. Being an accomplished vocal and instrumental musician, she has acquired a host of friend in all parts of the county. The groom is one of the most widely known young men in Routt county. The son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Lobb, he has made his home in Steamboat intermittently during most of his life. He has been engaged In the mining and mechanical industries. and pre vious to the last year, which he spent at Colorado Springs, he was employed by the Sarvis timber company. His ability as a mechanic was the means by which he secured appointment to the training school for radio-mechan- ics. He will continue his studies at the col1ege, and it is likely that Mrs. Lobb will return to Routt county at such time as her husband is called for active service.

My Grandmother

Everyone loves to see Grandma Lobb come for a visit. When she gets off the train her blue eyes sparkle as she sees her children and grandchildren again. Life is merry when she is with us because she has such a pleasant disposition. Quietly she sits in the rocking chair listening to each and every one as they tell her their experiences since her last visit.

Even though her back slips out of place and she is in great pain, she never complains, but when asked how she feels she smiles and says,"Fine, just fine".

Grandma Lobb is a great lover of all kinds of music and enjoys listening to records and my accordion playing. Never harsh in her criticism, she manages in her quiet way to let me know that I should practice more in order to obtain perfection. I value her opinion because she plays the piano and violin.

When a crowd gathers in the house, Grandma Lobb can always be found in a corner listening to someone's troubles, giving encouragement to people who know that their confidences will not be revealed to anyone.

Grandma's sense of humor is very keen. She laughs softly at the funny things the family tells her.

Tears are shed as we take her to the train because we know it will be another long year before we will see her again.
